A Dallas frozen yogurt chain wants to scoop up local consumers by opening 10 stores in the Baltimore area over the next three years.

Red Mango is looking for three franchisees to own and operate the stores, which require between $267,000 to $400,000 to get started.

The company held a franchising event in Alexandria, Va., July 15, where executives expected nearly 150 prospective owners to attend. Red Mango, founded in Seoul, South Korea, in 2002, has signed two individual franchise agreements in the Washington, D.C., area, where it hopes to open as many as 15 locations.

The expansion is part of the fast-growing chain’s strategy to have 75 stores in 12 states by year end. Since launching in the U.S. in late 2006, Red Mango has opened 56 stores.
