Media Relations Account Coordinator

  • Responsible for providing media relations support as needed for successful implementation of client PR programs.

 

Duties

  • Provide counsel and input on news value of announcements and proposed campaigns to account teams.

  • Work directly with the Account Teams for scheduling and updates on announcements and campaigns. 

  • Keep personal media lists and files updated and current.

  • Develop working relationships with news media.

  • Participate in client planning, meetings and calls as needed.

  • Distribution of press releases via Muck Rack and PR Newswire.

  • Pitch story ideas to the media.

  • Develop and maintain target media lists for clients.

  • Maintain editorial calendars.

  • Long-lead and group pitching.

  • Coordinate media interviews with client/reporter. 

  • Create media booking sheets for client interviews.

  • Track media hits for each campaign / maintain publicity hits in spreadsheets. 

  • Continuous monitoring of the media for new opportunities.
