Another Veterans Day has come and gone, and the headlines that BizCom secured for VetFran success stories like this national Yahoo Finance interview with Neighborly COO Mary Thompson were a reason to celebrate.
But let it be short-lived!
That’s right. Because as much as good publicity for our military men and women is a boost for franchise development, national pride and heartwarming stories for the brands we know and love, the truth is that veterans are entering the civilian workforce every single day. And the bigger goal to educate them on opportunities in franchising marches on.
In truth, so many former military personnel know nothing about franchising discounts. They may have never heard of the VetFran program that was created by the late Don Dwyer for the company now known as Neighborly, or the hundreds of reputable and time-tested franchisors belonging to the International Franchise Association that now support VetFran and would love to invite more veterans into their ranks.
However, what veterans do know very well — and what we know as promoters of VetFran -- is that they already have incredible training at following a proven system, courtesy of Uncle Sam and their time in the U.S. Armed Forces. That’s an incredible trait that translates well into running a franchise.
So, here’s a big salute to the wonderful week that BizCom celebrated with powerful stories showcasing many successful veterans-turned-franchisees. Let us make it our mission to promote many more of them on Veterans Day and every day. That includes more people like:
