Business success goes hand in hand with solid community relations. That’s especially true for restaurants that forge a strong connection with the guests they serve. And sometimes nothing says “thank you” better than giving back in a time of need.
Pei Wei, one of the fastest-growing Asian inspired restaurant chains in America, set the perfect example when historic floods washed across the State of Texas this year. Traditionally, restaurants look at bad weather internally as an obstacle that hurts revenues. But in a hallmark campaign, the Pei Wei restaurants across Dallas/Fort Worth stepped up to “Pei It Forward” in a fundraising campaign benefitting The Salvation Army’s Texas Flood Relief Fund.
BizCom was honored to handle the PR for the campaign where, for one week, 20 percent of net proceeds across all Pei Wei restaurants in DFW would go to the cause.
The message was supported with local team members from area restaurants and included food drops to local media outlets, chef appearances on local TV morning shows, radio shout-outs and a wave of publicity across social media, too.
Add in a mix of outdoor billboards and bag-stuffers and posters inside the restaurants, and the program was “wei better.”
Most of all, local residents connected with the restaurant on an emotional level, making it not only a great place to dine, but also a business with heart.
